The Chilkoot Trail straddles the international border. Parks Canada manages Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site, while the U.S. National Park Service manages Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park.

The administrative offices for the national historic site are located in Whitehorse, Yukon, while the historic site itself is located exclusively in British Columbia.

Many of our visitors start or end their northern adventure in Whitehorse, with most hikers starting their hike from the Dyea, AK trail head and hiking north towards Bennett, B.C. Some hikers, however, start from the Bennett trailhead.
