Wood Buffalo National Park spans 44,741 sq km, and is Canada’s largest National Park. We see the world’s largest wood bison population here, grazing within the boreal plain, keeping a vigilant eye for the local population of wolves, the largest canid subspecies in the world. Moose feed in the muskeg, black bears prowl spruce forests and beavers dam myriad creeks and rivers.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site also contains the last remaining natural nesting site of the whooping crane. The Peace-Athabasca Delta lies beneath several major migration flyway zones and provides one of the most concentrated nesting environments for geese and ducks on the planet.

The park roads, primarily located on the east side of the park, contain many pull-offs and interpretive trails, a campground and cabins.
